June GST collections rise 13.9% to Rs 1.95L cr

India's gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose 13.9% year-on-year to Rs 1,94,812 crore in June 2026, compared with Rs 1,71,105 crore in the same month last year, according to provisional data released by the finance ministry on Wednesday.

The increase was driven by higher domestic and import revenues.On a cumulative basis, gross GST collections in the April-June period of FY27 reached Rs 6,31,699 crore, an 8.4% increase over Rs 5,82,542 crore collected in the corresponding period last year.Also Read: How GST cuts triggered a rally for Indian businessesGross domestic GST revenue stood at Rs 1,34,774 crore in June, up 6.5% from Rs 1,26,506 crore a year earlier.

Gross revenue from imports jumped 34.6% to Rs 60,038 crore against Rs 44,600 crore in June 2025.After accounting for refunds, net GST revenue increased 11.2% year-on-year to Rs 1,62,377 crore, compared with Rs 1,45,984 crore in June last year.During the month, the government issued total refunds of Rs 32,436 crore, up 29.1% from Rs 25,121 crore in June 2025.Domestic refunds rose 42.9% to Rs 17,767 crore, while refunds on imports through ICEGATE increased 15.6% to Rs 14,669 crore.On the tax components, Central GST (CGST) collections stood at Rs 37,376 crore, State GST (SGST) at Rs 45,116 crore, and Integrated GST (IGST) at Rs 1,12,320 crore, including Rs 60,038 crore collected on imports.Net GST revenue for the first quarter stood at Rs 5,40,218 crore, up 7.1% from Rs 5,04,187 crore in the year-ago period.The provisional data showed that cumulative gross domestic revenue during the quarter rose 2.8% to Rs 4,54,427 crore, while gross import revenue increased 26.2% to Rs 1,77,273 crore.

Total refunds during the said period climbed 16.8% to Rs 91,482 crore. ...
