Não se trata da reunião da banda carioca com a formação original porque a reaproximação de Paula Toller com Leoni – membro fundador do Kid e coautor dos hits dos dois primeiros álbuns do grupo – é inviável diante de dissonâncias que se intensificaram há 40 anos quando, em 23 de fevereiro de 1986, Paula feriu o rosto de Leoni com um pandeiro em discussão acalorada em camarim, após show do grupo, em briga que incluiu Leo Jaime (alvo da fúria inicial de Leoni) e Herbert Vianna (então namorado de Paula). Nem o tempo amenizaria as dissonâncias, já que Leoni e Paula volta e meia se enfrentam nos tribunais por questões autorais relativas ao uso de músicas que compuseram em parceria. Essa história é recontada com jeito de causo pelo jornalista Fabricio Mazocco em “A pandeirada”, capítulo 31 do livro “Esse tal de rock'n'roll – 50 histórias essenciais do rock brasileiro”, lançado neste mês de junho pela editora carioca Máquina de Livros. A rigor, Mazocco oferece fluente manual para quem quiser se iniciar no rock brasileiro ao compilar 50 acontecimentos do gênero em cronológica linha de tempo que vai de 1955 – ano em que a cantora carioca de sambas-canção Nora Ney (1922 – 2003) gravou em inglês “Rock around the clock” (Max Freedman e James Myers, 1954), seminal rock'n'roll lançado no ano anterior pelo cantor norte-americano Bill Haley (1925 – 1981) – até o corrente 2026, ano de turnês que reagrupam bandas como Barão Vermelho e o supracitado Kid Abelha, passando por Jovem Guarda, Secos & Molhados e Rita Lee (1947 – 2023), cuja prisão em 1976 merece capítulo à parte. O grande trunfo do livro é a leveza do texto. Os capítulos são curtos e jamais aprofundam os meandros de cada história. Contudo, dentro da intencional superficialidade dos textos, há uma cronologia que, se os capítulos forem lidos na sequência do livro (e não de forma aleatória, como também é possível), o leitor iniciante terá razoável ideia dos caminhos do rock brasileiro dos subterrâneos da década de 1970 ao rock mais difuso dos anos 1990, misturado com outros gêneros por grupos como Charlie Brown Jr. e O Rappa. Seguindo essa trilha, Mazocco contextualiza a formação e aparição de bandas como Aborto Elétrico, Blitz – cujo capítulo termina com o quebra-quebra promovido pelo dissidente Lobão na sala de executivo da gravadora RCA – e Barão Vermelho, entre outras. Afinado com a falta de concentração (e de tempo para leitura) da geração Z, mergulhada na fugacidade das redes sociais, o livro “Esse tal de rock'n'roll – 50 histórias essenciais do rock brasileiro” se propõe a contar histórias rápidas, de forma despretensiosa. É como se cada capítulo fosse uma pílula. Talvez por isso até encontre um público leitor refratário a narrativas mais aprofundadas.
