Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Mattei Plan Task Force and the Enel Foundation to provide energy training in Africa

The Coordinator of the Task Force for the execution of the Mattei Plan for Africa, Fabrizio Saggio, and the Enel Foundation Chairman and Enel Group CEO, Flavio Cattaneo, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding energy training in Africa.

The MoU outlines a structured cooperation framework between the Task Force for the execution of the Mattei Plan and the Enel Foundation, aimed at supporting an alignment of energy training activities with universities and higher education institutes in both Italy and Africa, strengthening a process that is already underway with completed projects, measurable results and a recognised education ecosystem (including the Pan-African Training Centre on Renewable Energy and the Energy Transition in Morocco in collaboration with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University - UM6P, and its activities in Kenya with Strathmore University and in South Africa with the University of Pretoria).

The goal is to build training programmes that are increasingly tailored to regional needs, with a particular focus on young people and women as well as access to the job market, enhancing local skills and expertise and helping develop professionals who are able to drive change in the continent’s energy sector.
