Senator Lindsey Graham, age 71, died over the weekend following a cardiovascular health episode. President Trump recommended to South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster that Graham's sister Darline serve as interim senator while the state prepares a special primary election for a permanent successor.

There will be a special election in August to replace him on the ballot in November.
