Statement by Palazzo Chigi on the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel

The Italian Government welcomes the announcement of a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, thanks to the mediation of the United States.

It is essential to consolidate the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel and create the conditions for a lasting peace between these two nations, affirming Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and Israel’s security.

Italy has long been committed to these objectives and will continue to do its part, in close coordination with partners and allies.
