민주콩고 에볼라 확산세…브라질·이탈리아서도 의심 사례
아프리카 콩고민주공화국(민주콩고)에서 발생한 에볼라 바이러스의 감염 의심 사례가 1100건에 달하는 등 확산이 이어지고 있다.
아프리카가 아닌 브라질, 이탈리아 등에도 감염 의심 사례가 보고됐다.
지난달 31일(현지 시간) 로이터 등 외신들에 따르면 에볼라 발병의 진원지인 민주콩고에서만 282명이 에볼라 감염 확진 판정을 받았고, 42명이 숨졌다.
아프리카 질병통제예방센터(CDC)에 따르면 민주 콩고 내 감염 의심 사례만 1100건에 달한다.
에볼라 감염 의심 사례는 브라질과 이탈리아에서도 보고됐다.
브라질에서는 민주콩고와 우간다를 방문하고 귀국한 2명이 에볼라 감염이 의심돼 격리 치료를 받는 중이다.
이탈리아에서도 아프리카에서 돌아온 1명이 에볼라에 감염됐을 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단돼 병원에 입원한 상태다.
최근 확산되고 있는 에볼라 바이러스는 치명률 약 38%에 이르는 ‘분디부조’ 변이형(BDBV)으로 현재까지 치료제, 백신이 없는 상황이다.
