Criminals recruiting children through online gaming and sports groups

Criminal networks in Sweden are buying existing groups on social media in order to recruit children and young people, police say.

According to police superintendent Theodor Smedius, this includes groups on social media platforms for discussing video games or football.

On July 15, a new law will come into effect allowing Swedish police to demand that social media platforms shut down groups where criminals recruit kids to carry out crimes. ...
