Higher salaries needed to attract talent to Sweden's care sector

A larger share of the population needs to work in Sweden's care sector in the future, according to a report from the state's labour market policy evaluation agency IFAU.

But for recruitment to succeed the sector needs to be able to compete on conditions, according to economics professor Olof Åslund at Uppsala University.

He says salaries are an important aspect here, and that they're lower in the care sector than in many other industries. ...
