Wipro gobbles up S Brands

MANILA, Philippines — Indian conglomerate Wipro has expanded its footprint in the Philippines with the acquisition of S Brands Consumer Care Inc., a local personal care company that manufactures some of the country’s best-known hair care brands. The deal, made through Wipro’s fast-moving consumer goods arm, Wipro Consumer Care International, marks the company’s second acquisition in the Philippines after its purchase of Splash Corp. in 2019, which owns brands such as SkinWhite, Maxi-Peel and Vitress.
