UN Human Rights Council 62: Joint Statement for the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue with the UN Fact-Finding Mission for Sudan Joint Statement for the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue with the UN Fact-Finding Mission for Sudan. Delivered by the UK's Permanent Representative to the WTO and UN, Kumar Iyer. Mr President, I deliver this statement on behalf of the Coalition for Atrocity Prevention and Justice for Sudan. We thank the UN Fact-Finding Mission for its update and express our grave concern at the human rights crisis across the country. We condemn the use of drones by the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Rapid Support Forces, and their allies. Strikes on schools, markets, and hospitals have left civilians with nowhere safe to go. At the same time, attacks on aid workers, continued siege tactics, restrictions on humanitarian access and the use of starvation as a method of warfare are accelerating famine conditions and human suffering. Accountability remains essential to breaking the cycle of impunity. We welcome the work of the UN Fact-Finding Mission in documenting violations and abuses, and underscore contributions of Sudanese human rights defenders and justice actors who operate at great personal risk. They must be protected and supported to document and preserve evidence to hold those responsible to account. Mr President, we call on all parties to end this conflict. External actors must refrain from providing financial or military support. Those with influence must act to advance dialogue and bring parties to the negotiating table for sustainable peace. Thank you
