India's green power capacity up 22% in Jun
New Delhi: India's non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity increased over 22 per cent year-on-year to 297.36 GW in June, the official data showed on Friday.The country's non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity stood at 242.78 GW in June 2025, according to the data.The share of solar energy was 162.15 GW, and that of wind was 57.44 GW in June 2026, compared to 116.25 GW (solar) and 51.67 GW (wind) in the same month a year ago.Commenting on the development, New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi said India's clean energy transition continues to gather unprecedented momentum.In just one year, the installed solar capacity has grown from 116.25 GW to 162.15 GW, while total non-fossil fuel capacity has risen from 242.78 GW to 297.36 GW, he said in a post on X.Joshi said, "Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, India is accelerating towards its #CleanEnergy goals with speed, scale and determination building a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come." ...
