Telephone conversation with the UNIFIL mission commander in Lebanon

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, spoke over the phone this afternoon with the commander of the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon, Division General Diodato Abagnara.

President Meloni expressed her solidarity with the UNIFIL personnel and thanked the Italian troops for their bravery and commitment to stabilising Lebanon, in a context which remains complex.

General Abagnara updated President Meloni on the situation on the ground, highlighting the key role played by the Italian Contingent, which is the Mission’s largest.
