Rosneft gas stations across several districts of Russia’s Belgorod region have stopped filling jerrycans with AI-92 gasoline (the Russian equivalent of U.S. regular). Residents of the Korochansky, Alekseyevsky, and Yakovlevsky districts, among others, told the Telegram news channel Pepel about the restrictions.
In January 2026, at least 3.5 million rubles were spent on salaries for three governesses for Vladimir Putin’s youngest children, according to Systema, the investigative unit of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, the U.S.-funded broadcaster. Russia’s Foreign Ministry threatened Ukraine with strikes on “decision-making centers” in Kyiv, after which Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke by phone with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Lavrov said the United States and other countries with diplomatic missions in Kyiv had been advised to evacuate their diplomatic personnel and other citizens.
