“Can u please extend the deadline please because i was busy this week exposing you,” Sarthak Sidhant posted as a reply to the CBSE's post.
When asked specifically about the security concerns that prompted the platform switch, CBSE did not confirm or deny the reason.
The demands were made in the wake of growing concerns among students over the delay in re-evaluation process of CBSE exams.
CBSE said the portal was “subjected to repeated and coordinated cyber attacks over the past three days”.
Nearly 3.8 million malicious packets were involved in the attack as the portal blocked over 100,000 unauthorised access attempts
The portal, originally scheduled for May 29, the rollout was postponed to June 1, missed that deadline as well, and finally went live around 4.30 am on June 2.
The petition, argued by advocates Rishav Ranjan and Eesha Bakshi, also sought an extension of the verification and re-evaluation portal
The central board added that the portal also saw more than 1 lakh attempts of unauthorised file access.
In a notification to students, the board announced that the verification and re-evaluation portal is now live.
Candidates who want to apply for the re-evaluation process and verification can find the direct link to do it on the official website of CBSE at cbse.gov.in.
Complaints from students and evaluators regarding glitches in the OSM platform and delays in post-result services, including the launch of the re-evaluation portal, have resulted in a scrutiny of the vendor and the procurement process.
A four-member team comprising experts each from IIT was deputed to conduct a technical audit of the portal, examine workflows and help resolve glitches.
In case there is revision in Class 12 marks upon re-evaluation, after choice-locking for college seat allocation, specific rules will apply.
Sharing a snippet of his conversation with some students on X, Gandhi said that students are having to pay for CBSE's mistakes.
