Centre justifies LPG price hike
According to the ministry, the equivalent price of a 14.2kg LPG cylinder is ₹1,046 in Pakistan, ₹1,225 in Bangladesh, ₹1,755 in the US, ₹1,765 in Australia and ₹2,411 in Canada.

The comment comes following the recent price hike in LPG cylinder due to choked supply chains as a result of the West Asia conflict

Centre says OMCs lose ₹700 on every LPG cylinder despite the latest hike, while cooking gas remains cheaper in India than in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The petroleum ministry also said a beneficiary of the PMUY effectively pays ₹642 for a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder, while the general consumer in Delhi pays ₹942.
The latest revision comes after a ₹60-per-cylinder hike on March 7, which came after the disruptions to global energy supplies caused by West Asia conflict.
The price of an LPG cylinder in Delhi has now been raised to ₹942 from ₹913, PTI news agency cited industry sources as saying.
The charred bodies of the victims were found near the main entrance of the house, indicating they had tried to flee the blaze.

On Monday, the price of commercial LPG cylinders in Delhi was reportedly increased by ₹42 per 19-kg cylinder.
Following the revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has risen to ₹3,113.50 from ₹3,071.50 earlier.
