Qayyum Balogun died after being attacked on Clarendon Street in Dublin city centre in the early hours of Monday morning.
Body cams have been trialled in five garda stations: Store Street Station, Pearse Street Station and Kevin Street Station in Dublin city centre, as well as Henry Street Station in Limerick city and Waterford Garda Station.
The blade was found in searches of the area close to the murder scene in Clarendon Street, near Grafton Street in Dublin city centre by gardaí.
Qayyum had been attending a late-night concert in Bewley’s on Grafton Street before he was attacked.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident on Grafton Street where a male was found in a serious condition at around 3am.
Local residents protested against Dublin City Council’s decision to grant permission for a new ‘aparthotel’ at 144 Thomas Street.
The site will undergo rebranding and will reopen later this year as a New York-style brasserie.
