Vietnam is expected to enter a more intense period of heatwaves, heavy rain and tropical storms from next month as meteorological authorities warn of hazardous weather across much of the country during the peak rainy and typhoon season.
The number of storms and tropical depressions forming over the East Sea and affecting Vietnam's mainland in 2026 is forecast to be lower than the multi-year average, although unusual weather patterns and extreme events remain possible, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
