The US military said it shot down drones that were of immediate threat to regional maritime traffic.
DUBAI/WASHINGTON, June 6 - U.S. forces struck Iranian coastal radar sites on Saturday after shooting down drones launched by Iran toward the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. military said, in the latest escalation complicating efforts to end the war between the two countries.
Kuwait's military separately said its air defences had intercepted "hostile missile and drone attacks", as air raid sirens howled across the country.
The flight crew said neither visual checks nor their radar showed dangerous weather before severe turbulence occurred.
