The move by Cambodia to begin the mediation process followed Thailand's cancellation last month of a 2001 bilateral agreement on overlapping maritime claims and energy exploration.
Singapore Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reaffirmed "the mutually beneficial and longstanding bilateral defence partnership" between the two countries, said MINDEF.
