Inquiry: Fuel should cost SEK 3 more per liter so Sweden can meet climate goals
A government-commissioned inquiry looking into how Sweden can reach its climate goals says among other things that fuel should cost SEK 3 more per liter at the pump. The proposal suggests increasing fuel taxes and Sweden's reduction obligation, mixing biofuel in petrol and diesel to lower emissions, while also lowering the cost of electricity, as a way for Sweden to meet its climate targets. However government ministers, who commissioned the inquiry, are already saying putting the cost of fuel up through higher taxes, for example, is out of the question.
