The overnight strikes forced a major gas station chain to suspend the distribution of gasoline vouchers amid a fuel shortage in the region.
The Kremlin has acknowledged that gasoline production decreased โin some areasโ of the country, but said it saw โno risksโ of nationwide shortages.
Rosneft gas stations across several districts of Russiaโs Belgorod region have stopped filling jerrycans with AI-92 gasoline (the Russian equivalent of U.S. regular). Residents of the Korochansky, Alekseyevsky, and Yakovlevsky districts, among others, told the Telegram news channel Pepel about the restrictions.
TES and ATAN, which operate the largest fuel station networks in Crimea, have suspended sales of gasoline coupons. Both companies announced the decision in notices posted on their websites.

The ban comes as Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries have led to slumps in domestic production and gasoline shortages in some places.
Ukrainian drone strikes have disrupted traffic on the R-280 โNovorossiyaโ highway, the main land route linking the Rostov region with occupied Crimea, triggering a gasoline shortage on the peninsula. Gas stations have capped sales at 20 liters per day per driver, and many stations have run out of fuel entirely.
Authorities in occupied Crimea announced that starting May 30, sales of AI-95, a premium-grade gasoline, would be capped at 20 liters per person per day.
Independent gas station chains, which handle about 40% of fuel sales in Russia, can no longer restock their gasoline supplies. Chats used by oil traders and managers at those chains are โin a panic,โ the independent Russian news outlet Novaya Gazeta Europe reported.
