Full-time carers will receive a โฌ2,000 Carer's Support Grant payment this week, with the annual grant payable to over 147,000 carers according to Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary.
The Department of Justice says the change will allow applicants to receive a decision faster than waiting for the appeal to be processed.
Appeals Centre Europe, a Dublin-based social media appeals body, has received more than 30,000 complaints since it began operating in November 2024.
Just over half of the 2,700 complaints against gardaรญ received by the office of the police ombudsman were deemed admissible.
