Mr Blobby promptly went on an unstoppable murderous rampage, ripping off minersโ limbs and becoming โan atom bomb made fleshโ. Mr Blobby being disinterred is an apt metaphor. He has appeared on primetime TV shows, duetted with popstars, and convinced nostalgic punters to part with a surprising amount of cash to get their hands on Blobby-themed merchandise. The upcoming RBO/SHIFT festival at the Royal Opera House aims to interrogate all sides of this fast-evolving landscape to enable artists, performers, creatives and audiences to think deeply and widely about where we are now, and where we may be tomorrow.
