Telephone conversation with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria

The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone conversation today with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The two leaders reviewed the excellent state of bilateral relations in the political, economic, energy and industrial fields, confirming their shared commitment to further strengthening them. In particular, they examined progress in implementing the planned activities as part of the Mattei Plan for Africa, welcoming the recent positive developments with regard to the ‘Enrico Mattei’ Centre of Excellence for Training, Research and Innovation in Agriculture, located in Sidi Bel Abbès.

The call also provided an opportunity to review cooperation in countering irregular migration, confirming the shared will to combat the criminal networks that profit from human trafficking.
