Appeals for rejected citizenship applicants filed with Swedish courts

Sweden's tougher citizenship eligibility rules came into effect last month, without any transitional provisions for applications already filed with the Migration Agency.

The grassroots campaign group Fair Transition has been providing volunteer legal assistance to people whose applications have been rejected over the new rules.

It says it's received hundreds of requests for help with appeals, and is moving forward with 50 cases, the majority of which have now been filed with Swedish courts. ...
