Ocean Park technician dies after injuries to head

An Ocean Park employee has died after being found unconscious at the theme park on Friday.

Police said they received a call around 9am that the man had been found unconscious with head and shoulder injuries at the park’s peak area.

Officers said he was a mechanical technician in his sixties.

The man was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Labour Department has deployed personnel to the scene to investigate the incident.

Responding to inquiries, Ocean Park said the employee was found unconscious in a stairwell leading to the facility's maintenance workshop.

The theme park expressed deep sorrow over his death, saying management met with the victim’s family at the hospital and offered its condolences.

The park added that it will remain in close contact with the family to provide assistance and offer support to other employees where needed.
