There is a certain mindset that pervades our national life in Ghana. I call it the event thinking mindset. It is the habit of perceiving national challenges as discrete, isolated occurrences of events to be responded to, rather than as symptoms of underlying systems that must be understood, redesigned, and patiently maintained. It stands in direct opposition to what scholars of organisational and public policy call systems thinking.
