Vietnamese student gets 10 years for death of abandoned newborn

A Vietnamese university student was sentenced to 10 years in prison by a Seoul court for abandoning her newborn baby near Dongguk University last year, causing the infant’s death.

The Seoul Central District Court on Thursday convicted the woman, who is in her 20s, of child abuse resulting in death under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes.
