DA seeks to restore US market access for local blue crab

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture (DA) is moving to restore market access for Philippine blue swimming crab, locally known as alimasag, in the United States. The US Marine Mammal Protection Act currently bars US imports of Philippine blue swimming crab harvested through bottom pots, traps, gillnets, or entangling nets.
