Legco handles lawmakers' conduct cases seriously

Legco’s Supervisory Committee said on Thursday that it will seriously handle cases related to the conduct and ethics of lawmakers.

It said it would deal with such situations according to the Code for Members of the Legislative Council.

Legco's announcement was made after legislator William Wong apologised earlier for causing inconvenience following his arrest for suspected drink-driving.

The committee said it has always attached great importance to lawmakers’ conduct and ethics, and it understands the public's concern over the case.
