Since 28 February, Insecurity Insight has monitored how the conflict between Iran, Israel, Lebanon and the United States has affected the delivery of aid, education, food and water, and health care across Iran, Israel, Lebanon, and the Greater Middle East region. Insecurity Insight’s open source monitoring recorded a total of 302 incidents where conflict-related violence impacted aid, education, health, food and water systems in ten countries: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), Syria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Of these incidents, 97% (293) involved explosive weapons and occurred in all listed countries except the oPt. Explosive weapons included a range of weapons such as artillery, aerial and drone strikes, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and missiles. The highest number of incidents with impact on essential civilian services were attributed to the Israeli Defence Forces (162) and joint Israel-U.S. operations (92), and the U.S military (15). Other conflict parties included the Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Hezbollah. Five incidents were attributed to an unidentified conflict party.
The highest number of impacts were recorded in Lebanon (150) followed by Iran (117) with the health system being particularly affected in both countries. ...
