India-US trade talks conclude

India and the United States on Wednesday concluded two-day ministerial-level talks on the proposed first phase of the bilateral trade agreement (BTA), amid efforts to finalise an initial deal before the expiry of a 10 per cent temporary tariff regime imposed by Washington on global trading partners on February 24.The discussions, held between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in New Delhi, focused on reviewing progress in ongoing negotiations and identifying avenues to deepen economic engagement between the two countries.
