Australia to give PH underwater drones, anti-drone systems

MANILA, Philippines — Australia will provide the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) with underwater drones and counter-drone systems under a new P413-million, four-year assistance package aimed at boosting the agency’s maritime surveillance and domain awareness capabilities, the Australian Embassy in Manila announced on Tuesday. Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced the package during a visit to Manila. The assistance also includes long-range and heavy-lift drones, as well as specialist operator training for PCG personnel, according to the embassy.
