Over 700 foreign riders caught in delivery app crackdown

Hundreds of foreign nationals were caught working as delivery riders in South Korea by using other people’s app accounts, as authorities move to crack down on unauthorized work in the fast-growing platform delivery industry.

The Justice Ministry said Monday it caught 734 foreign riders and 16 delivery agencies during a five-month crackdown from January to May.

The number of riders was nearly 11 times the 67 caught throughout last year.
