New Delhi: The power ministry Monday unveiled a draft National Electricity Data Sharing Framework to create a common architecture for sharing electricity sector data, proposing standardised datasets, privacy safeguards and consent-based access to support planning, grid operations, regulation and research.
The last date to submit stakeholders' views is July 21.The framework will apply to all electricity sector data created and maintained by power generating companies, transmission licensees, distribution licensees, load despatch centres, regulatory commissions, government agencies including Central Electricity Authority, Grid India and power exchanges, among others.
The framework provides broad principles and institutional structures to enable structured, secure, and transparent data sharing in the electricity sector.
The idea is supporting non-discriminatory access while protecting critical information infrastructure.
Adoption of the framework will be voluntary for the sectoral entities.
However, the National Electricity Data Centre and the National Electricity Data Portal proposed as part of the framework will be established to create an ecosystem for data sharing. ...
