Kiyapo exits PAR, signal No. 1 still up in parts of N. Luzon

MANILA – Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over several parts of Northern Luzon as Kiyapo (international name Noul) rapidly intensified into a typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of 5 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Kiyapo is located 320 km. west of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph, and moving west-northwest at 25 kph.
