DOE says scrapping system loss fee may take one year

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) said it may take about a year to fully eliminate the system loss charge from electricity bills, citing the need for infrastructure upgrades, regulatory adjustments, and intensified measures against power pilferage before the policy can be carried out.
