Faint crater glow at Kanlaon may signal volcanic activity – Phivolcs

BACOLOD CITY —A faint crater glow was observed at the summit of Kanlaon Volcano from 3:40 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. on Monday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Mari-Andylene Quintia, Phivolcs resident volcanologist, said the glow typically occurs when magma has risen to a shallow depth beneath the volcano.
