Watch: Trump says Iran would be hit 'very hard'

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday the US would hit Iran "very hard" after an attack on the US military in Jordan.

"So it's our turn," Trump told reporters at the White House. He said Washington would see if there was an agreement at some point, "but we're going to hit them very hard."

Following these remarks, the US Central Command announced carrying out attacks across the country early on Thursday, with explosions reported in several cities.
