Mandaue City wants students to learn about solid waste management

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — The Mandaue City Government will appropriate ₱5 million to support the integration of solid waste management education into the school curriculum. The City Council on Monday, July 20 approved on third reading the ordinance providing funding support for the program. The city government and Department of Education-Mandaue City signed a memorandum of agreement to add solid waste management to the school curriculum. Councilor Carlo Fortuna said that the program will integrate solid waste management lessons into grade school and high school, including programs such as waste reduction, recycling, and reuse.
