Why Polcube?
Aerosol absorption is a key geophysical variable (GV) that polarimeters can quantify.
Polarimetry is vital to understanding the impacts of aerosols and clouds on climate and weather.
Incredible advances in aerosol and cloud remote sensing using polarimetry are possible using machine learning.
What is PolCube?
The proposed PolCube mission is an international collaboration between NASA Langley Research Center and the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI).
The goal of the mission is to validate ocean and air polarimetric science measurements from a CubeSat. PolCube is a contributed, flight-ready
instrument & spacecraft. It is based on the PolCam polarimeter onboard the
Korean Pathfinder Lunar Observatory (KPLO).
