Thousands feared dead in Venezuela after twin earthquakes flatten buildings

The fight to rescue the stranded, care for the living and retrieve the dead accelerated in Venezuela after back-to-back major earthquakes centered near the capital, Caracas.

The damage in places appears catastrophic and the U.S.

Geological Survey estimates that a disaster of this scope may have killed as many as 10,000 people.
