UN expert urges immediate trade and arms embargo on Israel

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory, has renewed her demand for governments to halt trade with Israel and stop supplying it with weapons.

Albanese said states should have acted when others first warned them about Israel’s conduct.

She was responding to a former Israeli ambassador to France who urged the public to recognise that there are “genocidaires” in the Israeli government.

Albanese said it is “never too late” for countries to intervene.

“It is never too late to stop it. Cut trade with Israel now. Arms embargo now.”

I wish those in power had listened to those who sounded the alarm when the genocide started.
