T1 in effect as Noul weakens
The Observatory replaced the T3 signal with the Standby Signal No. 1 at 3.20pm on Sunday as Noul weakened into a tropical storm and moved further away from Hong Kong.
Forecasters added that they would cancel all tropical cyclone warning signals when the storm no longer poses a threat to Hong Kong.
At 3pm, Noul was centred about 160 kilometres north of Hong Kong and was forecast to move north-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour into inland Guangdong.
As of 1pm, authorities had received eight reports of flooding and 331 reports of fallen trees.
There were no reports of landslide.
The Hospital Authority said as of noon, 21 people had been injured and sought treatment at the accident and emergency units of public hospitals.
Nearly 250 people had sought refuge at the Home Affairs Department’s temporary shelters as of 1.10pm.
