Seoul opens door to NATO-wide joint defense procurement market

ANKARA, Turkey — South Korea opened a path into NATO’s joint defense procurement market after Seoul and the alliance agreed Tuesday to begin negotiations on a procurement framework agreement, Cheong Wa Dae said.
National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac said Seoul and NATO formalized the launch of negotiations following President Lee Jae Myung’s meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.
