BARMM town councilor shot dead on first day of election gun ban

COTABATO CITY — An unidentified gunman shot dead a councilor of Kadayangan town in the Special Geographic Area of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The incident happened in Midsayap, Cotabato, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, the first day of the gun ban imposed in relation to the Sept. 14 BARMM parliamentary elections.
