White House: Washington-Tehran talks continue

Talks between the United States and Iran are continuing, with Washington claiming that Tehran is facing severe consequences as a result of the latest escalation.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said Iran is continuing dialogue with the US and is interested in reaching an agreement, due to the "devastating blows" it has suffered, according to her.

"The reason for the recent attacks is that Iran has violated the Memorandum of Understanding that we had reached with them," Leavitt said, referring to US military actions, writes skynews .

It also claimed that Iran has attacked merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important sea routes for global energy transport.
