Intern doctor released on bail after data probe

An intern doctor on Saturday was given bail after she was arrested on suspicion of accessing a computer with criminal or dishonest intent.

The 24-year-old was taken to Caritas Hospital in the afternoon to help out with evidence collection.

She must report back with the police next month.

Her arrest in Sham Shui Po last night came as the force said it had received a referral from an organisation that an employee was suspected of having browsed patients’ information without authorisation between May 13 and 14.

Earlier, the Hospital Authority said it had dismissed the intern doctor after a probe into a series of misconduct allegations.
