RTHK revitalises news, current affairs lineup on TV32
Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) is set to refresh its broadcast offerings on TV32 with a slate of new news and current affairs programmes beginning on July 20.
The initiative was announced during the network’s "TV32 New Programme Showcase" on Friday, when the broadcaster detailed a comprehensive schedule overhaul.
The revamped lineup will feature anchor-led news bulletins, in-depth current affairs segments exploring developments in the mainland and overseas, and an expanded roster of English-language content.
Starting on July 20, RTHK TV32 will significantly bolster its daytime news coverage. Viewers can tune in for half-hourly news summaries presented by an anchor every day from 11am to 6.30pm.
The evening will feature two flagship bulletins: the Cantonese-language "Hong Kong Today" at 7pm, followed by the English "Evening News" at 8pm.
The 7.30pm timeslot will introduce a new slate of in-house current affairs and informational programming.
Among the highlights is "Vision 15: Hong Kong's Chapter", a co-production with Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group that offers an accessible yet thorough look at the city’s first five-year plan.
The series has already premiered, with its first episode airing on July 8.
From July 20, additional programmes will be rolled out, including the English-language current affairs show "The Current".
Director of Broadcasting Angelina Kwan reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to using its resources to deliver objective, fair and accurate information to the public.
According to Kwan, the aim of the refreshed TV32 lineup is to offer a Hong Kong perspective on domestic and national affairs.
She added that RTHK will continue to uphold its public service mission, serving the people of Hong Kong through high-quality television and radio programming.
