Russia says it has "high expectations" for President Vladimir Putin's visit to China - as Moscow and Beijing move to deepen what the Kremlin calls their "privileged partnership".

Putin will travel to China on May 19 and 20, less than a week after US President Donald Trump met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
